CEBCO is a non-governmental, community-based organisation focused on protecting ecosystems, conserving biodiversity, and empowering communities to take the mantle against environmental destruction.

We believe lasting conservation is owned by the people who live closest to forests, wetlands and water. So we work through local leaders, schools, young people and women, and we partner with government and civil society to make that action count.

Our vision

To build communities in which humans coexist with nature, biodiversity flourishes, and ecosystems are sustained for generations to come.

Our mission

To mobilise, empower and work with communities to conserve biodiversity, restore degraded ecosystems, promote environmental awareness and advance sustainable livelihoods through inclusive, locally led action.

Our core values

  • Environmental stewardship
  • Community participation and ownership
  • Accountability and transparency
  • Inclusivity and gender equality
  • Indigenous and sustainable scientific knowledge
  • Intergenerational responsibility
